Virginia Tech Trip
On April 19, 2000, the Rocky Gap History and Technology classes, along with invited guests from Bland HS, toured Virginia Tech under the guidance of Mr. John Wenrich, President of Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE). A good time was had by all.
Knowledge Master Open Results
This spring, the KMO team placed higher than ever in the small school standings, as well as in the state and national standings.
AREN Conference
On April 12th, Rocky Gap's Local History classes hosted an AREN (Appalachian Regional Education Network) conference. Students from Bland and Mount Rogers High School came to participate in workshops concerning interviewing techniques and technology, and a string band from Mount Rogers performed. Representatives from other schools came as well to share information about their local history projects and to learn from ours. After these sessions, everyone was happy to enjoy a meal provided by a local restaurant. A tour of the Indian Village in Bastain, Virginia, followed. Click above for the exciting pictures and movies!
Romeo and Juliet visit Rocky Gap
