Educational Philosophy

We believe the school should promote the value of learning, foster the desire to learn, and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning in the schools. A school that insists on discipline and behavior creates the proper conditions for the development of self-discipline in the individual.

We believe the school should instill students with a positive self-image and self-worth as well as encourage each student to develop his/her fullest potential. Each student should be taught the mastery of certain basic skills which should be the tools for future success. The individual students needs should be met within the limitations of our facilities, materials, and personnel. Each student should be prepared to continue his/her education or to successfully enter the job market.

We believe the school should develop the student's awareness of community and his/her role within it. Students should be instilled with a sense of responsibility and duty to the community. They should be encouraged to practice good citizenship and to become active in the community's economic, social, cultural, and political life. The school is the center of the community and should cooperate with and seek the cooperation of the home, church, and worthwhile agencies in the community to provide opportunities for appropriate learning experiences for all members of the community.

We believe the school should provide students with the information and insight necessary for making intelligent decisions within the democratic process. The school should foster an understanding , tolerance, and appreciation of diversity of our state and nation's peoples and culture. We believe that extracurricular activities are a necessary part of our educational program in order to provide leadership training, creativity, and personal growth based on actual experiences. We believe the school should encourage the students to become aware of the world and its problems. Students should be taught an appreciation of the aesthetic and ecological aspects of the environment and man's affect upon it. They should be encouraged to become part of the solution instead of part of the problem of the environment and the world.
