Rocky Gap has always excelled in academics, but each year the school is put to the test in the annual VHSL Academic Competition. Every school in Virginia competes in the competition which starts at the district level. Each school can have eight representatives from their school to compete in a 100 question test covering the basics of English, Math, Science, History, and General Knowledge. The top two schools in the each district competition then compete with the other top two schools of the region. The final competition is a buzzer round, but few schools actually advance to that level. |
